Position: Technical Writer | August 3, 2015

As our Technical Writer, you will assume a lead role in creating and maintaining technical documentation to include product operation and maintenance manuals, product training documentation, and other product and support equipment manuals as required. You will work to understand the audience and work directly with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop content that is audience appropriate. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining network files, track departmental status (metrics), respond to and help assign work requests, and ensure the department is properly supplied to function at peak capacity.    

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Publish logical and easy to follow procedures for operation, repair and preventive maintenance within the technical literature
  • Manage internal requests through ticketing system
  • Create artwork from engineering source files (.dwg, .dxf, etc.)
  • Serve as a resource to the organization for Sales, Service, and Retrofit documentation support
  • Respond to requests for legacy documentation, compiling document from separate source files, including electrical and mechanical prints and BOMs where necessary
  • Integrate appropriate engineering documentation (drawings, BOMs, schematics) into operator manuals
  • Provide clear content for the customer portal and tablet-based offerings
  • Support label initiatives, creating, managing, and printing safety, machine, and miscellaneous labels
  • Track and maintain monthly departmental metrics
  • Proofread and edit documentation
  • Interface with internal departments
  • Take the lead on projects as assigned
 Requirements:
  • Two to four-year degree preferred with emphasis in English, Marketing, or Communications
  • Solid written communication skills with an audience-centric focus
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a technical writing capacity
  • Confident with Adobe software (Framemaker, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, et al.) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid understanding of digital photography and image manipulation
  • Strong English language skills—bi-lingual is a plus (Polish preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Wire machines per schematic.
  • Assemble a variety of mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies per blue print.
  • Resolve assembly problems and issues.
  • Responsible for following ARPAC manufacturing guidelines and standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, as directed.
  • Responsible for completing work assignments, as scheduled.
  • Responsible for reporting any problems/issues to Supervisor and utilizing ARPAC Quality System to record intra-departmental issues.
  • Interface with Engineering and Production Management.

Position: Field Service Technician – Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis/Kansas City, Northern, CA | August 3, 2015

As our Field Service Technician you will be responsible for installing, servicing, repairing, and maintenance of ARPAC machines and systems as well as promoting After Market Sales. Specific responsibilities include:

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot, identify root causes, and solve operational issues associated with ARPAC machinery at customer locations.
  • Train appropriate personnel in the field and in-house on proper setup, operation, maintenance and repair of ARPAC equipment.
  • Perform extensive mechanical and electrical modifications including PLC program modifications and servo drive reconfigurations.
  • Submit reports on machine and system installations, warranty repairs, overall performance levels, problems, and product improvement or enhancement opportunities to ARPAC personnel. Submit clear and measurable statements on machine performance, and clear punch lists of open issues.
  • Develop opportunities to promote After Market Sales and generate additional revenue for ARPAC through sales of After Market parts, services, and retrofits.
  • Prospect for future business relationships
  • Set up appointments with customers when not on prior scheduled assignments
  • Submit accurate and timely expense and time reports.
  • Communicate daily with Technical Service office to ensure that the Technical Resource Planner is aware of delays, expected completion of job, and other problems or issues that arise. Escalate issues or concerns to Technical Service Manager as necessary.
  • Travel extensively in the Eastern Region.
  • Periodically perform technical support, final assurance, and/or other assigned duties at ARPAC’s facility.
  • Build strong customer relationships to help achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Familiarize oneself with all Arpac machinery and new technology.
  • Interface with Customer Service/Parts, Sales, Marketing, Final Assurance, Engineering, Production and Materials Management in a professional and productive manner.
  • At all times represent ARPAC with highest levels of professionalism and integrity while interfacing with customers, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Be available every other weekend, or the next weekend if the prior weekend was not worked. Occasionally on large projects, 2 weekends in a row may be required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of high school diploma and ten years experience repairing and troubleshooting packaging equipment. Experience must include extensive Allen-Bradley PLC, servo, and HMI programming.
  • AAS or BS in Mechtronics, EE, EET, EECS or Industrial Electronics is highly desired. Extensive Allen-Bradley PLC training required.
  • Solid knowledge of packaging equipment including competitor equipment.
  • Travel experience required.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components and their interaction.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Allen-Bradley Compact Logix programming capabilities are highly desired.
  • Allen Bradley PanelView HMI programming capabilities are a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with servo systems, particularly Allen-Bradley, is a strong advantage.

As our Machine Shop Lead you will be responsible for coordinating work as well as hands on machining. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Utilize machinery such as mill, lathe, press brake, router, debur, saw, etc. to machine and fabricate components.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a “lead” machining position
  • Ability to Program, Edit, Set up and Operate Mills and Lathes
  • Knowledge and experience with conversational programming (g-code)
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Must have 3+ years experience with Manual Mills
  • Experience with short runs with multiple changeovers is required

Position: Manual Mill Machinist – Night Shift | August 3, 2015

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Program, edit, set up and operate Bridgeport Milling Machine.
  • Programs Bridgeport Milling Machine using Proto Trac MX2 Control,
  • Plans and performs a wide variety of diversified close tolerance milling operations; setups are exacting.
  • Selects speeds, feeds and tooling for a normal range of standard operations.
  • Studies blueprints or layout on workpiece to determine sequence of operations and finished dimensions of workpiece.
  • Lifts and positions workpiece on machine table and secures it.
  • Verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications using typical machinist measuring devices.
  • Verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications using typical machinist measuring devices.
  • Mounts milling cutter in spindle, and positions cutter and workpiece in relation to each other.
  • Verifies alignment of workpiece.
  • Turns valve handle to start flow of coolant or lubricant on work area, starts machine, and engages automatic feed.
  • Mounts different tool in place of cutter and performs other operations such as drilling and boring.
  • Uses ordinary dividing head and other attachments.

Requirements:

  • Ability to Program, Edit, Set up and Operate Manual Milling Machines
  • Experience with Pro Trac or EZ Trac
  • Knowledge and experience with conversational programming (g-code)
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Must have 3+ years experience with Manual Mills
  • Experience with short runs with multiple changeovers is required.

Position: Saw Operator / Polisher / MS Shop Helper – Night Shift | August 3, 2015

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Operates power hack, band or abrasive saw.
  • Marks cut off dimensions and change stops.
  • Adjusts feeds and speeds for various materials.
  • Identifies materials and marks stock according to color codes.
  • Replaces saws or abrasive discs.
  • Stores stock material and keeps inventory of all raw material.
  • Polish material for production.
  • Positions guides on machine table according to specifications of cut, and turns knobs to set guides or bolts guides in place.
  • Measures cut stock with ruler, caliper rule, or square to verify dimensions against specifications.
  • Responsible for completing material cutting list organized on carts.
